SCCTM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS NOVEMBER 16 - 17, 2023
Thursday Session F36 1:10 - 2:00 202B
Math Concepts in the Great Outdoors
Participants will be able to explore the national award-winning environmental education
curriculum Project Learning Tree (PLT) that features hands-on activities to strengthen math
concepts for young learners. PLT can easily integrate into existing education programs for all
ages and subject areas to help teach children about nature, trees, forests, and the love for the
outdoor environment. In addition to leaving this session wanting to increase the quantity and
quality of math nature experiences with children in your classroom, you will also have an
opportunity to schedule a more intensive follow up session to receive a curriculum guide. The
curriculum guide includes free exploration in art, outdoor play, discovery table, music,
dramatic play, and woodworking. Come play with me in nature!
