Building Thinking in an Illustrative Mathematics

In this session, participants will discover the alignment between implementing Illustrative
Mathematics™ grades 6-8 curriculum and many of the 14 Practices described within researcher
Peter Liljedahl’s book, Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics (2020). Whether you’re a
classroom teacher, math coach, or school or district leader, this session will provide you with
tools to develop and sustain equitable learning environments that encourage ALL students to
actively participate in critical thinking and problem solving during math instruction!
