3-D Math with Animals and Minecraft

Teach about the 3D animal area and volume project where students create an animal out of
boxes, create a project board about their animal and calculate the area and volume of their
animal. Also talk about Minecraft education and its ways for teaching area, perimeter, and
volume.

For the LOVE of Math

Spark, ignite and engage your LOVE of math and the LOVE of math for your students. A
student's ability to think, problem solve, and make good decisions is directly correlated to their
motivation. This session will incorporate several principles and practices to increase
motivation as we examine Leading with your heart, Ownership, Voice and Engagement in the
math classroom. You will leave with ideas to implement immediately as we explore the joy of
mathematics.
