Don’t Rule It Out! Exploring Math With Rulers

                                                    (Number Lines)

This interactive session will feature the humble ruler/number line as a tool for unlocking
conceptual understanding and inspiring wonder in students. We will collectively and flexibly
navigate different number systems, operations, and concepts from a student perspective and
               embrace the awesomeness of mathematics.

Finding Joy in Mathematics: The Posa Method

Pósa method (Pósa módszer): a method of mathematics instruction used in Hungarian gifted
math camps which emphasizes discovery learning. The aim of this method of teaching is to
make learning enjoyable for the students. Named after creator Lajos Pósa, a Hungarian
mathematician and advocate for math education, this method can teach us a lot about SC
math, through the lens of international mathematics, particularly in Hungary. Join me as we
learn about effective pedagogy and how this could help all students thrive in a mathematics
               classroom.
