                            Contest Problems When Teaching Area

Try something different when you teach area – try contest problems! This session challenges
you with a dozen carefully selected gems. Your students will welcome the novelty of this
approach as they gain insight into geometric concepts. They will team-up to bring various
talents together to succeed. Multiple solution paths remove these questions from the realm of
drill and give them value. The teaching of problem solving will be modeled in this session
permitting participants to take ownership of the problems and solutions. You will leave with
these and over 50 additional rich problems.
