Pillar 4: Learners’ Resiliency and Well-Being
For 2022, the SDO shall ensure readiness of schools for limited face-to-face
learning delivery and establish plans and protocols for learning continuity. By end
of 2021, the SDO has recommended eight (8) schools that are ready for face-to-
face learning modality. By first quarter of 2022, the SDO has targeted that 100%
of public schools are ready for face-to-face learning. The transition to face-to-face
modality has helped improve participation rates of learners in the elementary and
secondary levels.
The adjustments in learning conditions due to COVID-19 pandemic is also a
significant factor in participation of learners in school. It was anticipated that some
of the learners will be affected with the transition of the new normal of education
due to the economic, social, mental, and psychological impact of the pandemic to
their families. With the strategic objective to promote well-being and resilience of
learners, the SDO shall focus on providing support on mental, physical, and socio-
emotional needs of learners; responding to disasters; and increasing awareness
on children’s rights.
Strategy 6:
Ensure that learners know their rights and have the life skills to claim their
education-related rights from DepEd and other duty bearers to promote learners’
well-being, while also being aware of their responsibilities as individuals and as
members of the society.
