MATERIAL FEEDING / EXTRACTION SYSTEM

Mechanical equipment

INCLUDES:
▪ Checking of Condition of reclaim system (manual and/or pneumatic gate

operation, flow control gates, air slide system, cleanliness,...)
▪ Equipment operated/maintained according to supplier's instructions

GOOD PRACTICE:
▪ Obstructions shall be removed and buildups cleaned on a feeder or discharger.
▪ Preventive maintenance for mechanical components such as a feeder, vibrating

discharger, or discharge gate.
▪ Discharge gate position shall be fully open or fully closed.

REMARKS:
▪ A reparation or replacement of a component / full equipment can affect the silo’s
operation.
▪ Inspection of mechanical equipment of a silo should be done as part of routine
maintenance
▪ Silo extraction system including inverted cone and multiple aerial extraction have a

significant impact on the eccentricity of internal loads caused by the different
material flow patterns.
