I was on a lonely stretch of country road, passing
the usual sheep and cows on the side and in the middle
of the road.
I was driving slowly, being very careful and
actually a little proud of myself the way I was handling
my car. Suddenly, I heard a very loud BOOM and saw
flames coming from an explosion.
My windshield was soon covered in flying dirt and
debris. I turned on the wipers trying to get the gunk
off. To my left were some barn-like buildings, silos and
tanks. Hesitating for just a moment before turning
quickly, I hurried to get off the road. Once parked, I ran
to where a small crowd had gathered.
A man appeared to have been thrown by the power
of the explosion. He was lying under debris close to the
tanks. I scanned the crowd and heard a child’s loud cry,
“Daddy!”
