The University of Miami at Holy Cross (UM-HCH) Internal Medicine Faculty and

office from three days a week to five days a week. Additionally, the practice also has
expanded to HCMG's North Ridge location. All 36 UM-HCH internal medicine resi-

Established in 2015, the UM-HCH Internal Medicine Residency Program recently
graduated its first class of 12 internists. The program, which serves as a pioneer in the
future of graduate medical education, was created to narrow the void of primary care
physicians in underserved areas.
"There is a strong emphasis on ambulatory medicine in our training program, and
the Wilton Manors and North Ridge practice sites allow us to provide outstanding
patient care while training future primary care and specialty physicians for South
Florida," said Dr. Frederick Williams, program director of the UM-HCH Internal
Medicine Residency Program and assistant director of graduate medical education for
the Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Howard Koch, associate program director, said, "This program has elevated the
medical care delivered to South Florida residents by transitioning a well-established UM-HCH Internal Medicine Resident Dr. Priya Gandhi (left) and Associate Program
hospital into an academic institution. As a lifelong resident of Broward County and a Director Dr. Howard Koch (right) consult with a patient. The University of Miami at Holy
