                  Mindful Marketing

Chaos can reign with marketing. You need to decide
where to put your best efforts for best results, and you need
to be able to measure those results. You can’t do
everything.

    What distinguishes you as a Tiny Business is your
articulated intentions, your journey, and how telling your
story inspires others. Focusing on what value you can
bring to others sends out an invitation to engage. Here are
two low-cost, accessible ways to market your “why”:

    1. Win an award.
    2. Get media/influencer attention.

Awards are Low-Hanging Fruit
I’ve found the return on awards to be very high even with-
out a win. It’s all about raising your profile and building
momentum. The more you get, the more you’re seen; the
more you’re seen, the more you get.

    Find awards that are relevant. Look for ones that will
give you a good return on investment, the kind of expo-
sure you want in return for your efforts. A good place to
start is your local business chamber or business media out-
lets. They both use awards ceremonies to gather the busi-
ness community around them and promote themselves.
