PRAYER CHAIN: SILENTLY SERVING
The Trinity Prayer Chain has continued to be actively involved in the life of Trinity Church throughout 2019,
having received 60 prayer requests during the year. Many of those who have requested prayers have expressed
their gratitude for the support they felt knowing that Trinity was remembering them in prayer daily.
It is a privilege for me to serve as coordinator and to be associated with the 21 dedicated members, who pray
faithfully for the crises or other requests that come their way. The prayer team responds to emails, phone calls
and personal requests from Trinity members, adherents and those beyond our immediate community. Anyone
can ask for supportive prayer anytime and experience its comfort and uplift.
I would like to sincerely thank each member of the prayer team for the contribution they have made. Our
members include Kirk Summers, Nancy Summers, Linda Herron, Randal Phillips, Noreen Marshall, Mary Wilson,
Laureen Evans, Joan Kitchen, Jane Stephenson, Annalies Lauber, Fiona Roche, Gordon Beaton, May
Moghabghab, Carolyn Peddle, Janet Bray, Antoinette Matthee, Paul Burford, Susan Van Greuning, Melyjoy
Callitong, Liz Albrecht-Bisset and Andrea Hagan.
We encourage the congregation to contact us, should you feel the need or desire for prayers for yourself, your
family or friends – be it a troubling or joyous time in life. Any requests are held confidential, by the prayer team,
unless otherwise requested. If you are interested in becoming a member of the prayer team, please contact me
or any member of the prayer team.
Respectfully submitted, Janet Worthington, Coordinator
SENIOR MEN’S BROWN BAG LUNCH
The fourth Thursday of the month, as in the past, was the day for Senior men to gather for lunch at Trinity in
the Doig Room. We bring our own lunch; coffee is available.
As facilitator it has been my responsibility to provide conversation starters! From time to time these starters
were not necessary.
At the conclusion of our meetings we share in the Lord’s Prayer, following a prayer by the facilitator or our
minister the Rev. Kirk Summers.
Attendance has varied this year; generally, 7-10.
The fellowship shared has strengthened the sense of belonging and care for one another in the faith and life we
share in Christ as members of Trinity.
