4.Checking the price and room availability
Further, in this stage the receptionist staff will check whether
the room that selected by the guest is available or not. The
receptionist also tells the price of the room to the guest.
However, if the room is not available, the receptionist will
offer the other room that still appropriate for the guest. In a
line, if the price is too expensive for the guest, the receptionist
will give a suggestion to choose another room. It usually
happens because the hotel has a marketing strategy that offers
a room from the expensive one to the cheaper one.
5.Filling the guest registration letter and asking the guest
ID Card to complete the registration.
This is the fifth steps of handling check in walk in guest. After
choosing the room that will be occupied by the guest,the
receptionist staff will guide the guest to complete the
registration letter. In the registration later, there are some
important points that must be full filled by the guest such as
guest full name, address, sex, phone number, id card, types of
room, room rate, date of arrival, departure date, deposit, and
the signature. However, there are many kinds of registration
letter that depends on hotel regulation or administration.
6.Re-check and re-explain the guest request
In addition, after the guest finish in completing the letter, the
receptionist staff will recheck and re explain the reservation to
make it clear between the guest and the hotel itself. Usually,
the receptionist will emphasize about the points that has been
discussed in the stage 3. The points are the length of stay, type
of room, the price of the room, the facilities, and other special
requests. This is very important stage to avoid problems or
miss understanding between guest and the receptionist.
