1.3 Learning Module (Lesson Plan)
A well written and carefully thought learning module/lesson plan following the
understanding by design framework, incorporating the Vision-Mission of the School and the
Immaculadian Core Values, is a basic component of an efficient and effective teaching. The
learning module for a given subject is prepared by the Subject Teacher and checked by the
Principal ahead of the quarter.
1.4 Curriculum Maps
Curriculum Mapping is the documentation and discussion of what is taught. It is a
collaborative process that helps understand teaching and learning throughout K-12. It is a
reflective process that helps teachers understand what has been taught in a class, how it has been
taught, and how learning outcomes were assessed. The curriculum mapping process results in a
document known as a curriculum map. The curriculum map for a given subject is prepared by the
Subject Teacher and checked by the Principal before the start of the Academic Year.
1.5 Classroom Administration
A. Homeroom Guidance Period
The homeroom period is facilitated by the class adviser for twenty (20) minutes every day.
The class adviser is expected to handle the period maximally. He/she devotes this time:
i. To check the attendance of students.
ii. To check student’s haircut, uniforms and identification cards.
iii. To facilitate election of the class officers within the first week of classes.
iv. To review the provisions of the Student Manual
v. To give important announcements to the class, distribute letters to the parents
and/or collect reply slips, if there’s any.
vi. To coordinate with the guidance counselor on the conduct of Homeroom Activity
Period as required by school administration and DepEd.
vii. To conduct Christian formation programs as organized by the Immaculadian
Campus Ministry center (since every class adviser is the School animator of
his/her class).
viii. To submit anecdotal records of students to the Head of School.
