Life and Accidental Death
& Dismemberment (AD&D)
Insurance
To protect our DPR families in the event something should happen to you, DPR offers Life and AD&D coverage for employees.
These plans are provided by Symetra Insurance.
Basic Life insurance is provided at no cost to you, and you are automatically enrolled. We are required to tax employees on
this DPR provided benefit on amounts exceeding $50,000 once a month.
AD&D is provided as part of your Basic Life coverage and provides you specified benefits for a covered accidental bodily injury
that directly causes dismemberment (i.e., the loss of a hand, foot or eye). In the event that death occurs from an accident,
100% of the AD&D benefit would be payable to your beneficiary(ies).
COVERAGE LEVEL COVERAGE AMOUNT
Employees with less than 10 years of service 2x your basic annual earnings, to a maximum of $300,000.
Employees with at least 10 years of service 3x your basic annual earnings, to a maximum of $500,000.
Benefits will be reduced as follows: 65% at age 70; 45% at age 75;
Benefit Reductions
30% at age 80; 20% at age 85.
