6.3.6. Upload Changes
Once the new settings have been selected, they need to be uploaded to the GuardII+.
This can be done directly using either an Ethernet or USB connection.
Figure 6-25 IAM Upload Settings
• Press the “Upload” button to upload the settings directly to the monitor. This requires
a live Ethernet or USB connection to the GuardII+. Once the settings are uploaded,
the monitor will reboot.
NOTE:
Until the new settings are uploaded into the GuardII+, it will continue to
use the previous settings.
6.4. Data Download
Periodically, the Archive should be downloaded into the IAM software and the EV data
reviewed. This allows for early detection of any Asset problems indicated by the EV trend, as
well as detection of any GuardII+ problem should it occur.
NOTE:
To directly download data, IAM must have an open database that has the
appropriate monitor connected to an asset.
When importing data from a USB drive, IAM can create the appropriate
asset if one does not already exist.
For trending purposes, it is generally better to keep adding measurement
results to the same database rather than create a new one after each
download. However, changes in mechanical design of the monitored
asset (for example adding additional bracing to the endwinding during a
machine outage) may warrant a new database
NOTE:
The recommended data download and review interval is not greater than
six months.
