Why Jesus Didn’t Stop Judas From Betraying Him—
Jesus knew what His true purpose for being made
flesh and dwelling among men was. He knew had to give
His life on the cross. Had Jesus not gone to the cross,
all the prophecies would be lies… and all the prophets
would be liars.
“Do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and
He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve
legions of angels? How then will the Scriptures be
fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”
Matthew 26:53-54 (NASB)
Had someone not betrayed Jesus, the crucifixion
might not have happened. Judas Iscariot was that
someone. He entered into a deal with the religious leaders
to capture and arrest Jesus. Thirty (30) pieces of silver
was the price for which Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus.
“Then one of the twelve, named Judas Iscariot, went
to the chief priests and said, ‘What are you willing to
give me to betray Him to you?’ And they weighed out
thirty pieces of silver to him.”
Matthew 26:14-15 (NASB)
There would be no wonderful plan of salvation
and redemption had Jesus not gone to the cross to be
crucified. And, there would be no gift of the Holy Ghost
as Jesus promised in the 14th Chapter of St. John.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom
the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you
all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.”
John 14:26 (KJV)
