PRODUCTION AUTOMATION
Information-measuring and control systems
based on the control of acoustic emission
and electromagnetic effects during blade
processing of construction materials
Automatic maintenance of the operability of machine tools in conditions of minimal
operator intervention ("unmanned technology") is impossible without the widespread use of
built-in measuring instruments [1 - 4], collecting and processing information on the quality
of the technological process and working as part of the diagnostic system (DS). The functions
of operational diagnostics (OD) include not only the assessment of the state of mechanisms
and the working process, determination of the place and causes of malfunction, but also the
function of making decisions to eliminate the consequences of failures. The tasks solved by
means of OD include: 1) diagnostics of the state of the cutting tool (CT); 2) diagnostics of
the cutting process and its optimization; 3) control of the functioning and diagnostics of the
state of the machine tools; 4) dimensional control; 5) additional tasks that arise in specific
circumstances, for example, the adaptation of processing modes to the variable situation in
the cutting zone, the correction of the coordinates of the working bodies to compensate for
temperature deformations. The choice of means (sensors) for the OD of the cutting process
is determined mainly by two factors [5 - 7]: information content adequate to the studied
situation, arising in the cutting zone, as well as the simplicity and reliability of integration into
the machine.
