The Religious Celebration of Easter is April 9th. The idea of spring renewal has been around for
centuries and a variety of animals, like the Easter fox, have appeared in the celebration of spring.
How did the Easter Bunny , bringing eggs, become so popular in the United States? Jacquie
Lawson the online greeting card service based in England brings us the story.
The Cadbury Chocolate company, another British standard, makes the rich chocolate eggs filled
with a soft fondant center. fThey feature a yellow yolk that contains dried egg yolk. The eggs
fill baskets in the UK and the USA. . They also feature animals in their advertising each year
auditioning to be the new face of the Cadbury Bunny. (MOTORING has a candidate.)
According to Cadbury's official
website, over 500 million foil
wrapped Creme Eggs are made
each year. Two thirds of them
are eaten in the UK,
representing 3.5 Cadbury
Creme Eggs for every person in
the UK. (Since 1953
Pennsylvania based Just Born
candies now makes $301
million dollars worth of
marshmallow Peeps a year.
Some of them go to the UK.)
