                                                       Control

Secretion from the anterior pituitary is regulated by factors (releasing factors or inhibiting
factors) from the hypothalamus; reach the pituitary via the bloodstream.

Control of hypothalamus by higher center

► The peptidergic neurons in the hypothalamus are themselves influenced by higher
               centers in the CNS.

► This action is mediated via dopamine, nor epinephrine, serotonin & the opioid
               peptides.
