Passive immunization with adequate doses of ϒ-globulin
Prepared from recently vaccinated donors protect
unvaccinated household contacts of smallpox or
persons
Last vaccinated many years previously .Control vaccinia
&vaccinial Infections of the eye controlled by ϒ-globulin
( 500 mg -2.0 g) depending on patient age. Vaccine is
prepared from the skin of : calves,water buffalos or
sheep.
Vaccinia virus may also grow in chick embryo or rabbit
kidney cells.
Chickenpox(Varicella)
Acute infectious disease caused by virus close to herpes
zoster.Prevention using ϒ-globulin ?
Herpes simplex( Febrillis )
Rec e infectious virus disease occuringin tropical&
subtropical zones.Vaccine injected subcutaneously.
Polliomyelitis :
Acute virus infection in which small proportion of those
infected show clinical symptoms. Passive immunization
is not the method of choice. ϒ- globulin may not be
effective.
