German measles(Rubella)

It is an exanthematous contagious disease caused by
German measled virus. There is a well recognized
connection between maternal rubella during the first 3
months of pregnancy & miscarriages ,stillbirths &
congenital defects such as mental retardation ,deaf
mutism ,cardiac abnormalities & cataract.

Best results of ϒ-globulin treatment with 1-5 g given
within a week exposure ,delay should be avoided &
where there is more than one exposure at intervals of
