SKILL DEVELOPOMENT AT HAL, HYDERABAD
The National Policy on Skill Development was first formulated in 2009 and it provided
the framework for skill development activities in the country. Over the years, changes in the
macro environment, and the experience gained through implementation of various skill
development programmes in the country have necessitated changes in the policy.
Accordingly, the National Skill Development Policy, 2015 was formulated, and it
supercedes the Policy of 2009.
Vision:
To create an ecosystem of empowerment by skilling on a large scale at speed with high
standards and to promote a culture of innovation based entrepreneurship which can generate
wealth and employment so as to ensure sustainable livelihoods for all citizens in the country.
Objective of the skill development system in HAL:
Enhance individuals skill, knowledge and understanding to ensure ability to adapt to
changing technologies and market demand.
Improving productivity and quality for the growth of the company.
Strengthening the competitiveness of the company.
Develop high quality skilled workforce relevant to current and emerging needs.
Establishment of a flexible training delivery mechanism that responds to the characteristics
of wide range of skill needs of the company.
Promote commitment of all divisions of HAL, to own skill development initiatives.
Skill development management system (SDMS) ensures that adequacy of the skill training
process for meeting the strategy of skill development in the company aligned to the business
objective of the company.
Skilling Avionics Division:
Following activities were undertaken :
Implementation of skill development policy
Preparation of Occupational Standards in line with NOS
Preparation of Job Roles for Avionics division, Hyderabad and SEF, Kasargod.
Mapping of Supervisor- Employee roles of the division
Creating roles for supervisors in web portal
Mapping of job roles and skill evaluation
