• Mary Knowlton was a volunteer for the first exercise.
• The other attendees formed a half-circle about 20 to 30 feet away
from the scene to watch, while other Punta Gorda officers helped
coordinate the scenario and explained the use of the training
weapon to Mrs. Knowlton.
