Longview Farm is Officially Open!

PLYMOUTH – Locals have been pleased to discover that Longview Farm has offi- cially opened for the season on June 15th, offering a few early crops as they await the upcoming growing season, but in the meantime, the Nourish Proper food truck is also back outside the store with great meals available from locally sourced products.
Longview Farm is under the operation of Regina Rinaldo and her partner Nate Everts. The pair, along with a knowl- edgeable crew, have been busy planting, harvesting, and caring for their crops along the fertile Baker River in Plymouth.
A few years ago, the old farm stand was removed from the property. Now there is a much larger indoor farm store, built in the converted old cow barns and overlooking the 50 acres of fields where their wide variety of vegetables, sweet corn, and strawberries are all grown.

Turtles, and
a Treasure

Long before there were words, like these, long before time, like now, the earth was covered with water. Our planet was almost col- orless. Its palette had the blues of the ocean, an occasional rainbow after a storm, and the sudden yel- low flashes of the lightning which gave voice to those storms. That voice was a singular sound on an otherwise mute planet.
Then high above the earth, an angry voice of what the indigenous people called the “Great Spirit” could be heard as he chastised his daughter for an illicit affair that resulted in her pregnancy. Overcome with anger, the Great Spirit cast his daughter out of heaven. His daughter, now a falling “sky woman,” plunged towards the waters covering the earth to the certainty of being drowned. Miraculously, a giant turtle ap- peared on the surface of the
