WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH






                     Those who walk up right ly en ter in to peace... (Isaiah, 57:2)

                     ... Not one up right man re mains... Both hands are skilled in do -
                     ing evil; the rul er de mands gifts, the judge ac cepts bribes, the
                     pow er ful dic tate what they de sire—they all con spire to geth er.
                     The best of them is like a bri er, the most up right worse than a
                     thorn hedge. The day of your watch men has come, the day God
                     vis its you. Now is the time of their con fu sion. (Micah, 7:2-4)

                     For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord be stows fa vor

                     and hon or; no good thing does He with hold from those
                     whose walk is blame less. (Psalms, 84:11)

                     ... He who is walking in the right way will be My servant.
                     (Psalms, 101:6)

                     Even in dark ness light dawns for the up right, for the gra -

                     cious and com pas sion ate and right eous man. (Psalms, 112:4)

                     Surely the right eous will praise Your name and the up right
                     will live be fore /ou. (Psalms, 140:13)

                     Better a poor man whose walk is blame less than a fool
                     whose lips are per verse. (Proverbs, 19:1)

                     Better a poor man whose walk is blame less than a rich man
                     whose ways are per verse. (Proverbs, 28:6)


                     But se lect ca pa ble men from all the peo ple—men who fear
                     God, trust wor thy men who hate dis hon est gain—and ap -
                     point them as of fi cials over thou sands, hun dreds, fif ties and
                     tens. (Exodus, 18:21)

                     ... Even in a land of up right ness they [the wick ed] go on do ing
                     evil and re gard not the maj es ty of the Lord. (Isaiah, 26:10)
