WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH






                                            Patience

                     Be still be fore the Lord and wait pa tient ly for Him; do not fret
                     when men suc ceed in their ways, when they car ry out their
                     wick ed schemes. (Psalms, 37:7)

                     I wait ed pa tient ly for the Lord; He turned to me and heard
                     my cry. (Psalms, 40:1)


                     A hot-tem pered man stirs up dis sen sion, but a pa tient man
                     calms a quar rel. (Proverbs, 15:18)

                     Better a pa tient man than a war ri or, a man who con trols his
                     tem per than one who takes a city. (Proverbs, 16:32)

                     A man's wis dom gives him pa tience; it is to his glo ry to over -
                     look an of fense. (Proverbs, 19:11)


                     The end of a mat ter is bet ter than its be gin ning, and pa tience
                     is bet ter than pride. (Ecclesiastes, 7:8)

                     A man's spir it sus tains him in sick ness, but a crushed spir it
                     who can bear? (Proverbs, 18:14)



                                            Loyalty


                     Let love and faith ful ness nev er leave you; bind them around
                     your neck, write them on the tab let of your heart. Then you
                     will win fa vor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
                     (Proverbs, 3:3-4)

                     They would not be like their fore fa thers—a stub born and re -
                     bel lious gen er a tion, whose hearts were not loy al to God,
                     whose spir its were not faith ful to Him. (Psalms, 78:8)
