WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH






                     his fa ther and bit ter ness to the one who bore him. (Proverbs,
                     17:24-25)

                     When a mock er is pun ished, the sim ple gain wis dom; when a
                     wise man is in struct ed, he gets knowl edge. (Proverbs, 21:11)

                     Pay at ten tion and lis ten to the say ings of the wise; ap ply
                     your heart to what I teach. (Proverbs, 22:17)


                     Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wis dom of your
                     words. (Proverbs, 23:9)

                     Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right
                     path. (Proverbs, 23:19)


                     Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wis dom, dis ci pline and
                     un der stand ing. (Proverbs, 23:23)

                     ... If you find it [wis dom], there is a fu ture hope for you, and
                     your hope will not be cut off. (Proverbs, 24:14)

                     Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can an swer

                     it. (Proverbs, 27:11-12)


                     Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away an ger. If a
                     wise man goes to court with a fool, the fool ra ges and scoffs,
                     and there is no peace. (Proverbs 29:8-9)
