                                Avoiding Mockery


                But they mocked God's mes sen gers, de spised His words and
                scoffed at his Prophets... (2 Chronicles, 36:16)

                Drive out the mock er, and out goes strife; quar rels and in -
                sults are end ed. (Proverbs, 22:10)


                Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away an ger.
                (Proverbs, 29:8)

                You should not look down on your broth er in the day of his
                mis for tune, nor re joice... in the day of their de struc tion, nor
                boast so much in the day of their troub le. (Obadiah, 1:12)


                The mock er seeks wis dom and finds none, but knowl edge
                comes eas i ly to the dis cern ing. (Proverbs, 14:6)

                ... Scorned by men and de spised by the peo ple. All who see
                me mock me; they hurl in sults, shak ing their heads: "He trusts
                in the Lord; let the Lord res cue him. Let Him de liv er him,
                since He de lights in him." Yet You brought me out of the
                womb; You made me trust in You even at my moth er's breast.
                From birth I was cast up on You; from my moth er's womb You
                have been my God. (Psalms, 22:6-10)


                Penalties are pre pared for mock ers, and beat ings for the
                backs of fools. (Proverbs, 19:29)

                "How long will you sim ple ones love your sim ple ways? How
                long will mock ers de light in mock ery and fools hate knowl -
                edge? (Proverbs, 1:22)
