can be trust ed; their heart is filled with de struc tion. Their throat

is an open tomb. They flat ter with their tongue... O Lord; let their
evil de signs be the cause of their fall; let them be forced out by
all their sins; be cause they have gone against Your au thor i ty. But
let all who take ref uge in You be glad; let them ev er sing for
joy. Spread Your pro tec tion over them, that those who love
Your name may re joice in You. For sure ly, O Lord, You bless the
right eous; You sur round them with Your fa vor as with a shield.
                 (Psalms 5:1-12)

Oh Lord... do not dis ci pline me in Your wrath. Have mer cy on
me, O Lord, for I am weak: heal me, O Lord, for my bones are
troub led. My soul is in an guish... And save me for Your lov ing
                 kind ness' sake. (Psalms, 6:1-4)

O Lord my God, I take ref uge in You; save and de liv er me from
                                                                3
                 all who pur sue me... The Lord will be judge of the peo ples;
judge me, O Lord, be cause of my right eous ness, ac cord ing my in -
teg ri ty. O let the evil of the evil do er come to an end, but give
strength to the up right: for men's minds and hearts are test ed by
God by right eous ness. My shield is with God, Who saves the
up right in heart. God is a right eous judge... Behold, he tra vails
with in iq ui ty; yes, he has con ceived mis chief and brought forth
false hood. He made a pit, and dug it, and is fall en in to the ditch
which he made. His wrong do ing will come back to him, and his
vi o lent be hav ior will come down on his head. I will praise the
Lord ac cord ing to His right eous ness: and will sing praise to the
name of Lord the Most High. (Psalms, 7:1, 7-11, 14-17)

O Lord, how ma jes tic is Your name in all the earth, You have set
Your glo ry above the heav ens! When I con sid er Your heav ens,

                 3. Allah's attribute of al-Adl (the Utterly Just) is meant here.
