Hear my prayer—it does not rise from de ceit lips. May my vin di -
ca tion come from You; may Your eyes see what is right. You have
put my heart to the test, search ing me in the night; You have put
me to the test and seen no evil pur pose in me; I have pur posed
that my mouth shall not trans gress. As for the works of men, by
Your words I have kept my self from the ways of the vi o lent. My
steps have held to Your paths; my feet have not slipped I call on
You, O God, for You will an swer me... Show the won der of Your
great love, You Who save by your right hand those who take ref -
uge in You from their foes. Keep me as the ap ple of the eye; hide

me un der the shad ow of Your wings from the wick ed evil do ers
who as sail me, from my mor tal en e mies who sur round me. They
are shut up in their fat: with their mouths they say words of
pride. They have tracked me down, they now sur round me with
eyes alert, to throw me to the ground. He is like a li on that is
greedy of its prey, and as a young li on lurk ing in se cret pla ces. O
Lord... save me from the wicked... whose portion is in this life.

I love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my fir ma ment, my
for tress, and my sav ior; my Lord, my fir ma ment, in Whom I
take ref uge. He is my shield and the strength of my sal va tion,
my strong hold. In my dis tress I called to the Lord; I cried to my
God for help... He heard my voice... Then the earth shook and
trem bled and the bas es of the moun tains were moved and shak -
ing... He took me, pull ing me out of great wa ters. He de liv ered
me from... them that hat ed me; for they were too mighty for me.
They came on me in the day of my troub le; but the Lord was my
