WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH

cause He had de light in me. The Lord gives me the re ward of
my right eous ness, be cause my hands are clean be fore Him. For
I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not done evil by turn ing
from my God. For all His de ci sions were be fore me, and I did
not put away His laws from me. And I was up right be fore Him,
and I kept my self from sin. Because of this the Lord has giv en me
the re ward of my right eous ness, be cause my hands are clean in
His eyes. On him who has mer cy You will have mer cy... For You

will be made low. You, O Lord, will be my light; by You, the

tector] for all those who take ref uge in Him. For who is God but
the Lord? Or who is God but our God? God puts a strong band
about me, guid ing me in a straight way. He makes my feet like

roes' feet, and puts me on high pla ces... You have made my steps
wide un der me, so that my feet are kept from slip ping... The Lord
is liv ing; praise be to my God and let God of my sal va tion be
hon ored... He res cues me from my en e mies. You lift me up above
those who rise up against me. You de liv er me from the vi o lent
man. Because of this I will give You praise, O Lord, among the
na tions, and will make a song of praise to Your name. Great sal -
