I like the fact that it’s not the same every day. And I have a lot of flexibility
(гибкость/уступчивость) and my role in terms of (в плане) being able to
manage (иметь возможность распоряжаться) my own (собственным) time,
and what that looks like and make decisions (принимать решения). This
compensation study would really be taking another step (сделать ещё один
шаг) and looking at that as well in terms of helping people understand how
they move from one level (уровня) to another; how they might be able to move
from one job to another job that they might not even thought about. Also
making sure (убедитесь) that they are compensated properly (правильно)…
you know in that market. You know that we’re competitive. So, they, you
know, are able to have that fulfillment (исполнение/наполнение) as well.
Answer the questions:
1. What does the woman like about her job?
2. Does she sound genuine to you?
3. Would you like that kind of job?
Exercise 129. Read the text and discuss.
Walt Disney has one of the most inspirational stories and it’s clear why.
When it comes to (когда дело касается) inspirational (вдохновляющих)
stories, Walt Disney’s must be one of the most well-known true (известных,

Disney and his employee, Fred Harman, made a deal (заключил сделку) with
a Kansas City theatre to screen (экранизировать) their cartoons (мультики).
They were very popular, and Disney used the profits (прибыль) he made to
start his own studio. Disney expanded (расширил бизнес), but, by 1923, had
to declare bankruptcy (объявил себя банкротом).
Moving to Hollywood with his brother Roy and cartoonist (создатель
мультиков) Ub Iwerks, the group started the Disney Brother’s Cartoon Studio,
which soon changed its name to Walt Disney Studios.
From there, they were on their way up (на пути наверх). They made the
character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and, soon after, created Mickey Mouse
and associated characters, with the first successful Mickey Mouse film being a
short called “Steamboat Willie”. After some setbacks (неудачи), such as the
