At the next r/bout take the 2nd exit s/p “Aerodrome / Westerton”. That will take you past
Goodwood Aerodrome on the l.
At the next r/bout take the 2nd exit s/p “Midhurst / Singleton”.
Go past Goodwood Golf Courne on the l. and climb Kennel Hill. At The Triangle at the top of the
hill bear l. s/p “Singleton 1m”. At that point you can also climb the steps to the top of the hill for a
broad vista out over the South Downs.
At the T i/s turn l. on to Town Lane.
4.9 mi 50.9084, -0.7562 Follow a very pretty drive through the trees of Town Lane until you come
to the gates of the Weald and Downland Museum.
After visiting Chichester . . .
Make your way back to the A27 then follow the instructions below.
Otherwise, giving Chichester a miss (why?) . . .
If you decide not to go into Chichester, you’ll skirt around the town on the way to Portsmouth.
Remain on the A27
As you approach Portsmouth the A27 merges on to the M27. Get into the left lane ready to exit.
16.5 mi 50.8376, -1.0765 Exit l. on to the M275 s/posted “Portsmouth”.
Follow the M275 and brown signs that say “Historic Waterfront” or Historic Dockyard
4.6 mi 50.7988, -1.1072 The entrance to the dockyard will be on your right. Look for an oval
shaped multi-story building on your right Turn right there for parking. The historic dockyard is
about 200m further along on the right.

want.
The quick way on the M27 and A36 – Touring Route 12 on the map – is 45 miles and will take you
a shade or two over an hour – say 1hr 15min.
But there are other attractions like The New Forest if you choose to spend more time.
