Jessica Bate, Saanya Najib and Elle Tandy scored the goals as Walsall Ladies won 3-0 away
to Darlaston Town, a result which means they are top of Division One North. Shifnal Town
meanwhile opened up their campaign with a 7-0 victory over Lichfield City Res, Rebecca-Lee Bown
bagging a four-goal haul with Jenna Boddison (2) and Jada-Mia Lee adding the others.
Knowle claimed a second straight win in Division One South, 3-0 at Rugby Town thanks to
goals from Jessica Barlow, Natalie Gibson and Demi-Lee Rolph. Long Itchington join Knowle on six
points after they defeated Worcester City Development 4-1, Zara Dodd netting twice, with Rachel
Hassall and Kira Rogers also on the scoresheet.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup
The Vitality Women's FA Cup got underway for the new season, the Road
to Wembley having been delayed for a week after all matches had been
postponed the Sunday beforehand.
Penrith AFC scored six times without reply past Cramlington
Utd but Cramlington Town fared better, winning 4-2 at Boro
Rangers. Birtley Town meanwhile eased through by scoring eight times without reply away to
Cullercoats.
Sophie Curle scored the only goal of the game as Thornaby Ladies won 1-0 at Chester-le-
Street Utd, whilst West Allotment Celtic beat Guisborough Town 5-1. Hartlepool Pools
Youth came back from Boldon Ladies with a 3-1 victory under their belts.
Gateshead Rutherford Ladies caused something of a surprise when they beat Gateshead
FC Ladies 3-0 and CLS Amazons also claimed a higher league scalp with a 3-0 success away to
Hartlepool Utd. Gateshead Leam Rangers rounded off a good day overalll in the competition by
winning 4-2 against Stanwix Ladies.
No less than twelve of the ties in the round went all the way to penalty shootouts, including
Workington Reds who knocked out Washington Women after the teams shared a 1-1 draw.
Altofts Ladies had a much smoother passage as Nadine Bates (2), Emily Scott, Grace Wilkinson,
Natalie Riley and Nicola Smith gave them a 6-0 victory over Sheffield Utd Community and York
RI went one better when winning 7-0 at Harworth Colliery, Jodie Langstaff netting four times, with
Tamryn Dunlop (2) and Stazia Seaton also on the scoresheet. Morley Town also scored seven times
against Beverley Town.
Darlington FC Women ran out 6-1 winners over Ripon City and Sheffield Wednesday
edged out Cleethorpes Town 3-2, whilst Jasmin Cooper (2), Shauna Hill (2), Sarah Lawn, Tara
Nolan and Keeley Tottie saw Farsley Celtic Juniors to a 7-2 victory at St Josephs Rockware of
Worksop. Pocklington Town meanwhile progressed with a 4-1 success away to Poppleton and
Brighouse Sports defeated Grimsby Borough 3-1.
Preston North End got past Atherton Laburnum Rovers with a 3-0 victory and
Warrington Wolves Foundation scored five without reply away to Macclesfield Town.
Mancunian Unity went even better with an eight-goal blast against Athletico Middleton.
Sir Tom Finney were penalty shootout winners against Pilkington Women, after their
meeting had finished in a 1-1 draw. Marine FC Women came away from Bury FC Foundation
with a 3-2 win under their belts and Altrincham defeated Penwortham Town 5-3. Clitheroe
Wolves Ladies got through following a narrow 1-0 success against Nantwich Town.
Bury AFC Women eased to a 7-0 victory over BRNESC Ladies whilst Mossley AFC
Women got through on penalties after sharing a 1-1 draw with Hindley Juniors Ladies.
Macclesfield FC Women defeated Wythenshawe Amateurs 2-0 whilst Skegness Town scored
five without reply at Dunton & Broughton Utd.
Allexton & New Parks were another team to get through on penalties, beating Long
Buckby after the teams had shared six goals. Bugbrooke St Michaels won 3-2 against Rugby
Borough and City of Stoke were narrow 1-0 victors at Kingfisher, whilst Asfordby Amateurs
enjoyed a smoother passage at Stamford AFC Women, winning 6-1.
Coventry City won 1-0 away to Bromsgrove Sporting whilst local rivals Coventry
Sphinx also got through by beating Walsall Wood 4-3. AFC Telford Utd scored six times without
reply past Wyrley Ladies and Sedgley & Gornal Utd went eight better at Norton Canes Ladies,
while Droitwich Spa emerged as winners from a much closer affair with Tamworth, on penalties
following a goalless draw.
