WORKPLACE ETIQUETTE
As a Federal Credit Union, we pride ourselves on executing the highest levels of professionalism. It is
through our exceptional service, but also the proper use of our facilities, that we exude competence
and success. To achieve these goals, we must have standardized policies in our workplace that allow
everyone to understand the expectations of workplace etiquette.
WORKSTATION ETIQUETTE
Employee workstations should be kept neat and orderly. All papers should be kept in filing cabinets
unless they are being actively used. Confidentially is very important to our business; therefore, all
paperwork containing sensitive member data should be secured out of site to ensure every effort is
made to safeguard the information. All employees should clear their work station surfaces every day
prior to leaving for lunch and at the end of the day. Under no circumstances shall papers be left out in
workstations when the office is not occupied.
If an employee occupies a modular workstation, no items shall be placed on any surfaces that show
above the tops of the modular cubicles. Files, binders, or office equipment will not be placed on the
windowsill. Nails or pushpins etc. may not be used on any wall surfaces unless soft back surfaces on
modular cubicle walls.
The floor plans of Police FCU facilities reflect where equipment and furniture are to be located.
Employees should not bring equipment or furniture from the outside, nor relocate any existing
company provided furniture, equipment, paintings, etc.
All beverages must be kept away from computers and other equipment. All spills should be cleaned
immediately. Employees should take the necessary action to thoroughly clean all spills especially on
fabric or other items that hold stains.
Police FCU encourages employees to make their workspace personalized and comfortable. Small
pictures, decorative items, and other memorabilia are permitted in employee workstations to a
reasonable degree.
ON-SITE MEAL CONSUMPTION
Meals should be eaten in the provided break and lunch rooms. Employees are responsible for cleaning
up after themselves and keeping the break and lunch rooms clean at all times. Each employee is
responsible to wipe clean any preparation or eating surface they use, as well as washing and putting
away dishes, glasses, dishware, or utensils used.
