My Bible

Have you a passage from the Bible which is special to you? Has it
helped you through difficult times or filled you with joy or hope for
the future? Do you think it might help or encourage other people if
you shared it? At the end of January Hazel Southam from the Bible
Society will be coming to Swanage URC to talk to people about a
time in their life when a specific passage from the Bible spoke to
them, what that text was and how it helped. She is willing to visit
anyone who would find it difficult to leave home.

A brief summary, two or three paragraphs, will be printed in Word
in Action, the Bible Society magazine, and added to the section My
Bible on the Bible Society web site. It looks like this https://

People will be photographed, but not named, giving a level of
anonymity.

We hope that 5 or 6 people will be willing to take part. We can
Invite people from other churches but we're convinced we have
more than enough folk in our own church with a story to tell of
God's goodness to us through the Bible. If you would like to be

Candles on the Beach – Lewis Manning Trust - fundraising event
Join us for a spectacular evening this December as we illuminate Swanage
beach with candles in memory of our loved ones. You will have the
opportunity to write a personal message on your candle at our dedication
station, before it is placed on the beach.
Where: Swanage Beach When: 5 pm-7 pm, Saturday 10th December

If you would like to make a donation for a candle(s) on the
beach before the event please go online. (We suggest a
donation of £5 per candle).
