Soup and Cinema!
What a wonderfully heart-warming time we had
at the Pilot event.
We watched the Pixar animation, “Up!” which deals sensitively with
the topics of intergenerational inclusion, aging, bereavement, and
living life to the full - especially in our later years.
The quality of the company and the film was matched by what can
genuinely be called, “Gourmet Soup,” though there were unfulfilled
demands for popcorn and ice creams!

Our next showing is 14 December, with adjusted times –
12.30 pm food, and 2 pm film. As before, you are welcome to
come for fellowship, food, and film – or come to the movie feature
on its own. If you don’t like soup, do feel free to bring your own
food so that you can fellowship with us. Our movie, of course, will
be a Christmas one!
Beyond Soup… ‘Soup and Cinema’ was a direct response to a
Purbeck-wide desire to have cosy places with a warm welcome on
every day of the week over Winter. We’d like to do a lot more.
There are discussions being held to explore the viability of a weekly
provision of coffee, cake, and conversation on what’s called, “The
Lonely Day.” Namely, Saturday is often a difficult day for people. If
the proposal goes ahead, a group will host this each Winter
Saturday between 10.30 am - 12.30 pm.
