NETIQUETTE GUIDE FOR ONLINE CLASSES
It is important to know that online classrooms are indeed a classroom. Instructors and
students must observe politeness and professionalism when communicating online.
Below are the guidelines for proper online behavior and interaction.
BEFORE THE REAL-TIME CLASS
● Organize and prepare your learning space. Choose a quiet area.
● Be on time. Always follow your class schedule.
● Check your email for an announcement or invite.
● Dress appropriately and wear ID.
● Before joining a Google meeting, refrain from changing one’s name. Changing it
to an unregistered name in the class list shall be subject to disciplinary action as
stated in the Code of discipline of this manual.
● Enter or join the class with audio muted and video on.
DURING THE REAL-TIME CLASS
● TURN OFF your microphones during presentations or discussions. You will be
asked and allowed to answer or speak in class.
● Sit in a learning position in your designated learning space at home. Neither lie on
a bed nor rest on a sofa. Students/pupils must sit in an upright position when
attending real time live online classes.
