the slide. Avoid telegraphing by not leaning or moving the
supporting side before the lift.
Notice in the picture that as the hip
lifts the leg, the center is well in
front of the support leg. The
support leg will slide forward to
regain balance with the kick.
Get comfortable lifting without
falling by starting from a short,
high stance and increase the
stance length more and more as
you progress until it can be done
from your normal On-Guard
position.
This was originally developed to be a low groin kick and eventually
as time and practice progressed, I was able to consistently use it
to kick to the head!
