           The more you practice this drill, the better you will be able to move
           in sync with an opponent to maintain a proper distance.



           Valence  is  a  scientific  term  for  electrons  revolving  around  the
           nucleus  core  of  an  atom.  My  teacher  thought  these  valences
           resembled the striking distances around a body. The atom is the
           body with the electrons being hand and foot techniques being
           applied as strikes or blocks at specific distances (valences) from
           the target.
           These are the Five Valences to be considered.

           The Five (5) Valences (distances)
                    Valence 0: On the body – Technique which is "on-the-
                    body"  such  as  grappling,  holds,  and  locks.  Speed  and
