“This is a new year. A new beginning”
There’s always a chance to start over – especially at the beginning of the school year. The new
academic year beacons a flurry of learning engagements. The theme for the month of March
was ‘punctuality’, and the core value of punctuality was highlighted and its importance was
explained. The learners were also engrossed in attaining different skills using the varied
assemblies, activities and events undertaken in this month.

LO: To be able to hear, read and write all three sounds in single syllable words.
To listen and understand story through pictures
Talk about the sequence of events or actions in a text, e.g. what happens at the beginning, in
the middle and at the end of a story.
Students were taught how to make simple three letter words and story sequence. They were
involved in this activity to build these words. They enjoyed these activities thoroughly and
were able to come up with the three letter words. They were also provided with story flash
cards images and were asked to arrange it in sequence.
