elements. They enjoyed their endeavour as amateur writers by penning down stories on a given
theme. The amount of creativity and imagination put on paper were quite impressive. It was a
wonderful read for the English Facilitator.
Math
LO: Reading and Writing Decimals Numbers
The learners of Grade 5 learnt the process of reading the decimals through a poem. They have
also learnt writing the decimals using place value chart, identifying place values and expanded
form.
Hindi
LO: Revisited the topic - story writing.
Children expressed their ideas and created a story in a group, based on the given clues. By this
they learnt to create the story.
Social Science
LO: “Know your planet” had been started with innovative mind maps and few written tasks.
The new session has begun with loads of enthusiasm and curiosity among the learners with
regard to Social Science. It’s quite a new subject for them to explore.
Learners expressed their joy of interacting with the Social facilitator with the new ideas.
The new academic session commenced with the Bridge course including basic Mapping skills,
Online quizzes of states and capitals and various activities…. It was fun all around exploring
Social Sciences together.
Science
LO: To make the learners aware of the concept of different types of materials that allow them
to pass the light and shadow formation.
Learners spoke about what they know about shadows and how they are formed. The concept
of shadow formation is clarified by the activity of puppets as well as making shadow shapes
using fingers.
Learners made different shapes of puppets to understand the concept of shadow.
Grade 6
English
Where the other grades are stepping into a fresh new session, the grade 6 learners are entering
into deeper layers of preparation for the upcoming Checkpoint Examination. Regular revision
of the topics, solving worksheets and practice papers are the daily routine for the learners. To
ensure their readiness the mock tests were also conducted to help the learners familiarise with
the examination process and question patterns. Certainly, their hard work will get them the
sweetest fruit.
