President’s Message stepped down from the Board in October after 24

years of service. Most regrettably, due to COVID, I
was not able to travel to Christchurch, but I was able
to chair the Board meeting via Zoom and to join
the other Board members in expressing sincerest
gratitude for all Clive has done for the College and
for our Section through the many positions he has
held on the Board. (See “Vote of Thanks” to Clive in this
newsletter.)

The ICD induction ceremony and luncheon held at
the new Te Pae Convention Centre in Christchurch
on August 20 was a resounding success. 72 Fellows
and guests attended with 17 new Fellows being

inducted, making it the largest ICD function ever
held in New Zealand. As always, the calibre of new
President Rick Sawers AM Fellows inducted was of the highest standard. Our
Section was particularly pleased to induct the first
