“Another thing your model clearly articulates is the choice that each one of us has in our

interpretation. We can choose to see any event as a threat and go down the red path or see it

as an opportunity and follow the blue one.”

“You have created a very powerful training module Dan.” “Don’t forget my royalty

though!” he added laughing.

“Coming back to the subject, would you now like to redefine ‘Potential’.”

“I would say, it is the ability of the individual to be successful in future. But it is still

ambiguous and subjective.”

“Yes, it is. That is why it is important to define Potential. This definition will be different

for every company because it must synch with company’s Values and Purpose. Even within

our company, people will describe Potential differently as corporate definition does not exist.

So, what is Potential?”

“First, it is important to recognize what it is not. I exclude technical skills and competence

as they get covered under Contribution, i.e. performance and results.”

“Secondly, part of what I am about to describe as Potential here may be included as

Contribution for some senior positions.”

“To me, Potential of an individual has three core components:

1. Mindful Attitude

2. Bold Leadership

3. Social Intelligence
