“Would your vision and strategies be different if collaboration was not part of leadership

skill?” Ron counter questioned.

“Yes Ron. They would be far more stretching and challenging.”

“I think you just answered your question. But allow me to elaborate further.”

“Recall we earlier talked about leveraging strengths rather than weaknesses. It is somewhat

similar. We tend to round-off key skills. So, we add ‘collaboration’ as a core leadership skill to

counterbalance its ‘assertiveness’.”

“Does it make us, the leaders, deliver better results? I am afraid not. We compromise and

tamper down our vision/ objective/ goals/ strategies to be acceptable to all.”

“I see it differently.” Ron continued, “Bold Leaders must be aggressive. Counterbalance

for me comes not from compromising the Leadership skills but from the synergistic effect of

all Potential skills. Mindful Attitude and Social Intelligence balance the aggressiveness of Bold

Leadership.”

“Thanks Ron. It makes lot of sense to me.”

“Moving to Social Intelligence. It is all that we have talked in the past few weeks. The
