“Very Interesting,” said Ron studying the model. “It vividly captures your concept – the
blocked Control space with room for only one individual and one-way flow of persuasion,
porous Empathy space for people to move in and out and influence flowing either way, open
compassion space with no limitations and commitment for all.”
“You have well captured a significant aspect – though tough, we can choose to move from
Control to Empathy and Compassion. My only suggestion is to show it as two-way flow
because the undesired reversal, i.e. from Empathy/Compassion to Control, can happen easily
and involuntarily.”
“Well-done Dan. I love it.” Ron said with admiration in his voice.
Dan was elated, “Thanks Ron.”
“I am sure you look forward to our sessions Dan, but what you may not know is that I too
look forward to our sessions. Do you know why?”
Dan had no clue, and it was visible. Looking at his blank expression, Ron continued, “You
have engaged me by not only being attentive during our sessions, but by your enthusiasm to
learn – interpret, understand and apply these learnings in real life. This is fantastic and is also
giving me learning opportunities.”
“Thank you also for helping Linda make the right decision on her own without persuading.
It is a great example of expanding your sphere and allowing Linda in.”
It did not surprise Dan that Ron was aware of Linda’s conversation. He knew how easily
people open to Ron.
