Special thanks to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter members for their
donation of 222 pairs of shoes in support of New Futures’ shoe drive. Collecting shoes provided the chapter
the opportunity to support three International Targets: Environmental Ownership, Family Strengthening and
Global Impact. By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to New Futures, the shoes will be given a
second chance and make a difference in
people’s lives. It’s amazing that the small act
of donating a pair of shoes can have such a
phenomenal impact.

The New Futures Shoe Drive was held to raise
funds for the New Futures Family Lodge.
New Futures will earn funds based on the total
weight of the shoes
collected.Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the
donated footwear and the dollars earned will
benefit New Futures’ effort to build the family
lodge to help keep families together. New
Futures provides a service to the entire family
and not just women and children, thus helping
to keep the family unit together and
strengthening the family.

All donated shoes will then be redistributed
throughout the Funds2Orgs network of
microenterprise partners in developing
nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished
people start, maintain, and grow businesses in
countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other
nations in Central America and Africa.
Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house families. It's reported that one entrepreneur in
Haiti earned enough money to send to her son to law school!

There’s still time to donate!! Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes (in bags) and drop
them off at New Futures Family Lodge, 3419 Venona Avenue in Huntsville, Alabama. For more information,
