In October 2014 Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter (EGO), Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Incorporated launched its Global Impact Program at
Columbia High School, An International Baccalaureate World School.
The Global Classroom Project was designed to engage students in the
exploration of current world issues through interactive simulations.
Members of Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter created a handbook,
developed lesson plans, and conducted classroom sessions on subjects such
as: Human Trafficking, Gender Equity and Science,
Sustainable Development Goals, Cyber Security & Social Media,
          Combating Racism,
Climate Change and Globalization. Each spring the classroom sessions
concluded with a Mock United Nation General Assembly. The student
ambassadors debated their assigned issues, plotted strategy, negotiated with
supporters and adversaries, resolved conflicts, navigated United Nations
Rules of Procedure, and adopted a resolution at the end of the session.

The 2016 academic year concluded with a trip to New York City for selected
