Childhood Hunger (Rise Against Hunger)
On May 6, 2017, Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter collaborated with the
Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and the Rise Against
Hunger organization in their “Rise Against Hunger” meal packaging event at the Omega Center located in
Huntsville, AL. The goal for the event was to package 20,088 meals and when the gong rang, the attendees
exceeded the goal and packaged 21,000 meals that contributed to ending hunger in our lifetime. In addition to
assisting with packaging over 21,000 meals, the chapter donated $500.00 to the Huntsville Chapter of Delta
Sigma Theta that was used to purchase over 1,700 additional meals. The event was fun and it was great to
collaborate with members of the community as well as the other divine nine.
