TARGET III: FAMILY STRENGTHENING

Childhood Hunger (Rose of Sharon)
On May 22, 2017 Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter
collaborated with the Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen and
Thrift Store to collect pull top canned food items and
seasonal wraps during the chapter’s May meeting. The
Rose of
Sharon Soup
Kitchen and
Thrift Store
is a non-
profit, 501c3
ministry to
the homeless
and needy in
the Huntsville Alabama area that has served the community for 13
years. Every month they serve over 2,000 meals to our areas
hungry. They currently serve over 75-100 people per day with 10%
being children. The organization only gets its funding from
community donations and they were in dire need of canned foods
with pull tops that could be taken back to homeless camps where
they could be cooked over a fire or just easily opened and eaten.
They were definitely
grateful for the
donations made by
EGO Chapter.
